VALENCIA ACOGE TAKES OVER THE COORDINATION

 

Valencia Acoge, which is coordinating the "Speak OUT" project, is a space of solidarity for intercultural learning and the fight against racism and individualism without solidarity, offering to contribute to the creation of a better society through the participation and action of native and migrant people.

He has extensive experience in a number of relevant areas:

It has experience in coordinating partnerships for cooperation, as it leads the project "Young people from different backgorunds working together at the community level to build an inclusive and supportive postcovid-19 Europe", funded by the Erasmus + Programme in 2021. In addition, it is a bridge between the collaborating entities, as it has worked on several projects with each of them, so its coordination ensures a correct development of the "Speak OUT" strategy.

Experience in developing innovative methodologies for the reception of migrants

 

It is a reference entity in the field of work with the migrant population. It has developed strategies to promote the inclusion of migrants, through innovative projects where those who benefit are protagonists in the training processes. It is worth highlighting the creation of theatre or joint actions between the native and migrant population, as well as the compilation of life stories.

As a recognised entity, Valencia Acoge will facilitate access to the project to dozens of entities that participate in various networks such as Red Acoge in Spain.

Participation of the beneficiary groups themselves

 

The organisation has thousands of beneficiaries every year, but above all with the annual participation of more than 150 people (both locals and migrants), who collaborate in different spaces and working groups. This guarantees the participation of the beneficiaries in all phases of the project.

It works directly in the Orriols neighbourhood, a very run-down area of the city of Valencia, with high levels of unemployment and exclusion, which is home to many migrants.

It has a large team of more than 30 technicians with experience in a wide range of areas, including natives and migrants, who work together for equality and inclusion.
